The premise of Sweet Tooth drew audiences in almost as much as its range of strange and colorful characters. When the H5G9 virus wiped out most of humanity prior to the start of Sweet Tooth, babies began being born as human-animal hybrids. This caused many to blame the hybrids for the virus, despite there being no evidence that the hybrids caused it. Based on the Vertigo comic books written and drawn by Jeff Lemire, Sweet Tooth follows the deer boy Gus and his guardian, Jepperd, as they make their way through this bizarre dystopian world, eventually unraveling the real origins of both hybrid babies and the H5G9 virus.
With over 98% of the global population gone, the remnants of humanity form cults, militias, and other groups to survive in Sweet Tooth's post-apocalypse. Meanwhile, Dr. Aditya Singh searches for a cure to the viral sickness, and former therapist Aimee Eden creates a safe haven for hybrid children to protect them from a society that hates and fears them. The story and world are rich, deep, and complex, and it's the stellar Sweet Tooth cast members who brought it to life from the first episode all the way to the end of Sweet Tooth season 2. Christian Convery as Gus/Sweet Tooth
Gus is a hybrid child with antlers, deer ears, and other unique characteristics like night vision and heightened agility. In both seasons of Sweet Tooth, Gus is played by Christian Convery. Gus is slightly older than the rest of the hybrid population because he was the very first hybrid. While the first season only provided clues about Gus' true origins, Sweet Tooth season 2 revealed how exactly Gus was conceived. Despite growing up in isolation, Gus is a highly social kid. The title of the show, Sweet Tooth, is a reference to the nickname that Gus' guardian, Jepperd, gives Gus because of his love for sweets. Christian Convery played Morgan in Pup Academy and Jasper Sheff in Beautiful Boy.
Nonso Anozie as Jepperd/Big Man
Like many post-apocalyptic protagonists, Tommy Jepperd is tormented by his dark past. What makes Jepp unique, however, is that he was also a famous football player before the end of the world. This makes it equally suspenseful and hilarious whenever a stranger recognizes Jepp. While Jepp dubbed Gus with the nickname Sweet Tooth, Gus has taken to calling his guardian Big Man for his imposing physique. Jepp crossed paths with Gus after saving him from hybrid poachers, and the two have been virtually inseparable since. Apart from being the second lead of the Sweet Tooth cast, Nonso Anozie is also known for playing Abraham Kenyatta in Zoo and Xaro Xhoan Daxos in Game of Thrones.
Stefania LaVie Owen as Bear
Bear is a teenager who believes that both the hybrid children and the virus are nature's way of healing the damage done to the earth by humanity. She founded the Animal Army, a group of similarly orphaned children who wear animal costumes and use guerrilla tactics to save hybrids from being hunted and killed. Even though she's just a teenager, growing up in the post-apocalypse have made Bear a competent fighter with strong survival skills. Stefania LaVie Owen is known for playing Nicole Chance in Chance and Rebecca Iguero in Messiah.
Dania Ramirez as Aimee Eden
Aimee Eden was a counselor who felt trapped in her career, until "The Great Crumble" arrived, and she found her whole life completely upended. After a baby hybrid is abandoned at her doorstep, Aimee established a save haven for hybrids inside the walls of a zoo — until the outside world threatened their home and sanctuary. Most of the hybrid children in the Sweet Tooth cast call her mom. Dania Ramirez is also known for playing Hannah Perez in Tell Me A Story and Maya Herrera in Heroes.
Adeel Akhtar as Dr. Aditya Singh
Once an ordinary doctor who dealt with skinned knees and sniffles, Dr. Aditya Singh finds himself at the heart of the search for a cure for the H5G9 virus. His wife, Rani, is kept alive through experimental treatments that were developed at a terrible cost. When the local doctor retires and hands her work off to Adi, he's forced to choose between his ethics as a doctor and his love for his wife. As a result, Adi may be the most complex and developed character in the Sweet Tooth cast. Adeel Akhtar is also known for playing Faisal in Four Lions and Naveed in The Big Sick.

Neil Sandilands as General Abbot
The former power structures have crumbled in Sweet Tooth's present day, and the man in charge now is the sad*stic General Abbot. Leader of a military organization called The Last Men, Abbott thinks that hybrid children are only good for being exterminated or experimented upon. Abbot is defined by his ostentatious military-inspired wardrobe, intimidating presence, sheer charisma, and unfaltering willpower. General Abbot is easily the most terrifying character in the Sweet Tooth cast. Neil Sandilands is known for playing Clifford DeVoe, a.k.a. The Thinker, in The Flash, and Titus in The 100.
Marlon Williams as Johnny
A wild card in the Sweet Tooth cast, Johnny is General Abbot's right-hand man. However, unlike most members of the post-apocalyptic militia, Johnny has no interest in capturing hybrid children for Abbot's plans. Nonetheless, he maintains a high place among The Last Men's command by virtue of being General Abbot's brother. Marlon Williams also appears in True History of the Kelly Gang and A Star Is Born, where the popular singer-songwriter appeared as himself.

Amy Seimetz as Birdie
A former scientist at Fort Smith, Birdie was the woman who handed off Gus to Richard. Birdie was part of the team of experts that somehow created Gus in a laboratory. Amy Seimetz also appears in The Last Manhunt, No Sudden Move, Pet Sematary, and the TV series Get Shorty.
Sweet Tooth Cast: Supporting Characters
Will Forte as Richard/Pubba: He many not be Gus' biological father, but Richard protected Gus and hid him from the world, raising him in Yellowstone National Park. Better known as MacGruber from the SNL-sketch-turned-series, Will Forte also appears in The Last Man on Earth, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, and The Afterparty where he appears as himself.
Aliza Vellani as Rani Singh: Rani is Dr. Adi Singh's wife, who fell sick with the virus but has been kept alive through experimental treatments. Aliza Vellani also appears in the modern reboots of Charmed and The Twilight Zone, and was the voice of Ms. Marvel in Marvel Super Hero Adventures.
Naledi Murray as Wendy: A pig-girl hybrid who was abandoned outside the zoo as a baby, Wendy is Aimee's adopted daughter. An accomplished child actor, Naledi Murray also appears in Tommy, First Wives Club, and The Undoing.
Jodie Rimmer as Judy: Birdie's friend and colleague, Judy also worked at Fort Smith before the virus took over the planet. Jodie Rimmer is a television veteran who also appears in My Life Is Murder, Filthy Rich, and The Brokenwood Mysteries.
Mia Artemis as Tiger: Bear's best friend and lieutenant within the Animal Army, Tiger is an able fighter with big plans. Mia Artemis also appears in The Secrets She Keeps, The Longest Weekend, Pieces of Her, and Wakefield.
George Ferrier as Jordan: While trying to find Gus, Bear meets Jordan and his family on the road. George Ferrier also appears in One Of Us Is Lying, Dirty Laundry, and Kiwi Christmas.
Yonas Kibreab as Finn: A fox human hybrid, Finn is one of the kids that took refuge in Aimee's zoo. Yonas Kibreab was a Jedi youngling in Obi-Wan Kenobi, and also appears in Raven's Home, Better Things, and Into The Dark.
Christopher Sean Cooper Jr. as Teddy: Half-boy and half-turtle, it takes Teddy a while to come out of his shell, but he's very friendly. Christopher Sean Cooper Jr.'s first television appearance is in Sweet Tooth.
Erin Minchin as Jojo: The raccoon girl hybrid Jojo is the first to introduce Gus to how the kids at the zoo primarily use sign language to communicate. Like many young members of the Sweet Tooth cast, this is Erin Minchin's first onscreen role.
Amie Donald as Maya: Gifted with exceptional agility and strength, the half-monkey hybrid Maya can get to places where others can't. Amie Donald played the doll in M3GAN, and she also appears in The Tank.
Rosalind Chao as Mrs. Zhang: Alongside the likes of General Abbot, the cult leader Voss, and the other warlords in the Sweet Tooth cast, Helen Zhang commands her own faction with vast territories in the post-apocalypse. Rosalind Chao is a screen veteran who is most famous for being in Joy Luck Club, and also appears in Better Things, Mulan, and The Laundromat.
Anna Jullienne as Beverly Anderson: A wife and mother living in Yellowstone's visitors' center, Beverly is sympathetic to the plight of hybrids. Anna Jullienne is best known for playing Heather in Mean Mums, and Katie in 800 Words.
Jared Turner as George Anderson: Apart from being Beverly's husband, George is a loving father to Rusty. More popularly known as Ty Johnson of The Almighty Johnsons, Jared Turner also appears in One Lane Bridge, Almost Paradise, and several Power Rangers series.
Tom Kerr as Rusty Anderson: Beverly and George's son, Rusty lives with his family at the Yellowstone visitors' center. Being part of the Sweet Tooth cast is Rusty Anderson's first onscreen credit, and he will appear in Time Bandits.
James Brolin as The Narrator: Sweet Tooth is narrated by an unnamed, omniscient, and calming voice. This voice is provided by James Brolin, who was also in Being Rose, I'll Be Home For Christmas, and The 33.
