I love the event, but is MMR off? (2024)

I love the event. I don't know most of the perks I'm getting.

I've either not used many of these for a long time or I've never cared about using them in the first place.

    It's kind of fun.

    But is the MMR off?

One match I go against a p100 mix, the other I go against survivors who don't seem to know how to play. Weird.

It certainly feels like it's switched off. I'm getting absolutely destroyed in every game I play (Killer and Survivor).

It certainly feels like it's switched off. I actually have fun and get a decent chance at winning every game I play (Killer and Survivor).

I've won every killer game of these past 4 hours and I've just been matched with a 38h player. (I'm around the 3.5kh mark)

      It has to be off.

I just got a bully squad with Billy that I didn't feel like facing and got myself a 15 minute ban. So yeah, I think that's enough of this mode for me. It would be fun, but I've realised I don't enjoy playing killer without my beloved Lightborn.

I'm just going to finish the tome and never touch it again until they add some matchmaking.

It may be off… but then again if someone uses Adrenaline+WoO+DS+Unbreakable all the time then that person finds it difficult to adjust.

I think it's on but the numbers might be picking from a wider group.

I don't think it's off because I'm still facing people as skilled/comitted to winning as ever. They still do gens really efficiently, there is still a styptic agent ALMOST EVERY GAME, they still bring map offerings… in other words, they play efficiently while still bringing the strongest stuff they can, except for the perks that are random.

Idk if it's off, but I think I only lost a few matches (maybe 2-3) as killer. I got a "bully"-squad with 4 flashlights with twins that got completely destroyed with 3 gens left, so at least they can't be too good xD

Oh yes, I got a lot of map offerings, bunch of toolboxes, "bullies", …

Still nuked them all. (I even got insulted by one of the "bullies".)

Maybe like @CorvusCorax86 suggests, too many are used to play META and can't adjust.

I had a few troublesome matches, but I only had to turn-up the heat (a.k.a tunnel one out when 2 gens were left) to get the upper hand.

In my experience, "bullies" die fast. They are often too focused on trying to be a nuisance and they only need to make one mistake to lose.

I love them and not because they lose : because the change of pace they bring makes the game more interesting.

Given this mode gives you random builds, losing wouldn't annoy me so much.

On my matches, survivors managed to get several flash-saves and a couple of well timed sabotages. I just focused on making them pay. Even if you can't get all of them, you can at least get one, or two.

Given the builds are random, you can almost safely bet Unbreakable and Decisive Strike are off.

Wasn't really interesting to be honest, I just turned it around and bullied them instead xD

The thing is, if I wanted map offerings / toolboxes / 4X flashlights and both sides playing for the win as hard as they can, I'd just play the standard DBD experience at peak hours. At least then I'd have a build that counters aspects of the game that I'm weak at or find frustrating.

But that's not really what I'm up for when I queue to play a time limited casual mode that's meant to be fun. Nothing is on the line, not even our invisible MMR ranking, so why do so many players sweat? (that said, bully squads don't "sweat" in the traditional sense, they play to humiliate the Killer and to make them DC in frustration).

For the record, I had much more fun today as the games were relatively chill. Well, until the day wore on and the matches began to get sweatier.

My guess is that it's on, but it's using a wider range to fill lobbies. Generally getting players that seem like they know what they're doing. But every time I've played, I've been seeing matchmaking bonuses for both killer and survivor on the Chaos modifier. And I seem to be winning a lot in either role.

On the topic of (attempted) "bully" teams in Chaos games, I played against a lobby with a styptic medkit + three flashlights and they sure played like they had developed a dependency on Background Player or whatever they were used to using. They would not spread out or get away from me, made blatant mistakes, got destroyed, and then complained about the game being boring at the end. It looked liked they rolled good loadouts to me (2 DS, 1 OTR, 1 with a flashlight even DID apparently get Background Player, 1 Distortion that probably should have been useful against my Lethal Pursuer and Nowhere to Hide, 1 Camaraderie on someone who did, in fact, get stuck on the hook with teammates leading me around nearby during struggle phase), but it felt like they couldn't capitalize on the one or two very useful perks they were each dealt.

Just trying to play more to get a 3 or 4k than I normally would on the modifier because I feel like, you know, that's the challenge of getting dealt random perks… figuring out how to make them work for you.

MMR for match making is still on. The only part disabled is inceasing or decreasing your MMR.
